I don't think that DAZN is treating stars as the puppets, but while generally fighter needs to be in control of his/her carreer, by signing up for such huge amount of money you give up some control over your career. Which is understandable because this is business and DAZN needs to have a hefty ROI after sinking so much on Canelo.

People will beech and whine, but ultimately everyone will be watching GGG-Canelo III. Everyone. And everyone will be talking about it. I would be happy to see DAZN using their leverage and pressuring Canelo to fight GGG in September. It is now or never, nobody would care about this in 2 years and somebody needs to put a leash on DLH's strategy of waiting out GGG's prime. They have and still have never beat him convincingly (not to open the millionth "who won: GGG or Canelo" debate).

When somebody pays the bills of your 5th generation descendants they should have a say in how you deliver your end of the bargain.

I would agree with you if Canelo was choosing to fight fighters like Steve Rolls, but he has shown over his career that he is chasing greatness. He chose to fight Trout, Lara, Jacobs etc. and has shown a willingness to fight Andrade or Callum Smith. Throughout his career Canelo has had autonomy to choose his opponents.

I wouldn't be surprised if 90% of DAZN subscribers signed up because of Canelo, he's the sole superstar in the sport. Maybe he doesn't make 300m+ in 11 fights without their deal, but it's not far fetched to think he could come close.

I must be in the minority who thinks Canelo doesn't completely dominate GGG in the trilogy. I personally think Canelo is an older 28 and I think it might be showing. Hard to say how a 3rd fight would go but G is definitely faster and a coordinated body attack would pay dividends. Golovkin has been out awhile against an awkward fighter. Let him have a full training camp with Banks and I think he'll look fine.

The fight can happen next, like this September, and I don't think many GGG fans will give Canelo much credit for the win even if it's a TKO. GGG is 37 and looked like crap from what I saw. Canelo looked good against a top guy like Jacobs. So you're right, he needs to hurry up. This fight cannot surpass May 2020 or else it will be way too late, someone else will beat GGG if he fights someone with a pulse. Of course if he keeps fighting guys like Rolls, Wade, Vanes, Lemiuex he can keep winning and keep his hype alive like 2012-2016 hype but he needs to stay away from spoilers like Jacobs at this stage of his career.

Lol. While I don't think Golovkin looked great, I'll be shocked if they make Canelo-GGG3 in Sep, at least not without making G jump through a million hoops.

No matter how many lowlife trolls come out of the woodworks, nothing Canelo did against Golovkin came easy in the two fights. He didn't draw easily, he didn't win easily, he didn't bully nobody, and out of the two Canelo was the only one who got visibly rocked in the 10th.

If it was up to Canelo/Oscar, they'd let the rubber match hang around for 12 months. The question here will be how much leverage does DAZN actually have? If they make the third fight for Sep, I'll get a lot more respect for them.
