Comments Thread For: Andy Ruiz To Team Joshua: I'm The Champ, I Call The Shots Now

Andy Ruiz will not allow himself to get treated like the B-side in the ongoing negotiations for the rematch with Anthony Joshua. On Saturday night at Madison Square Garden in New York City, Ruiz pulled off a massive upset when he stopped Joshua in the seventh round to capture the WBA, WBO, IBF, IBO world heavyweight titles.

"I have the upper advantage right now. I know that's what (Hearn) says (about UK rematch). As long as I talk to Al Haymon and my team, we're going to figure it out where. It really doesn't matter where, as long as we get back in the ring if we show the fans what they want to see. I'd love to have it [in New York] or in LA. I have to look at the contract. I'm the champion. I call the shots now. So we're going to see what happens."

      Um yeah you probably should.

He maybe the champ but I am sure if he can earn the same money on his own than with Joshua.

He can always buy out the rematch clause. But if he cant, he might as well accept it.

Location: They fought in the US. I think it is fair they fight next in the UK. It will sell well in UK anyway.

That's right go look at the contract, i'm sure it will say matchroom has the choice of location and venue, i'm sure Hearn can't be ****** enough to leave that out.

Not sure about that, Robbie. The champ can put a rematch in the contract and exercise it at will, as Joshua is doing, but I don't think the loser of the first fight can demand the location.

I think Haymon wouldn't have agreed to that, if he had read that contract, unless the pay is humongous.

                Just my opinion...

AJ was on a quest to conquer America he got KOd and lost his titles on US soil..
Why run away to your country and fight the man?You should rematch here and reclaim your belts where you lost them like a man. If Joshua is looking for legacy and respect he must return to America and get the Victory.

They fought in Nueva York with 90% of british fans in the crowd.

Ruiz was not the local fighter
