However, I don't expect him to. He'll probably just toe the company line and do as he is normally told by Matchroom Sport and Eddie Hearn.

Also, if I understand correctly, the rematch clause language was in the original contract. So I don't know how the PBC or any other promotional company can bid to the rights for that fight, if they did not help draft the original contract.
I expect Joshua to do as he is advised (told) by Matchroom as well. I wonder just how much control his side had without him being the champion...as a challenger. Ruiz has been adamant about not fighting in the uk since he knows he was hornswoggled in New Zealand against Parker for the wbo title. If Ruiz puts his foot down, and the power of haymon is invoked like castle greyskull, this could get extremely intersting....especially since the bigger money is clearly in the USA.

Settle down Hearns. I truly believe the "Snicker's Man" will grant Joshua the rematch. On the other hand, please inform Joshua to put the weights down and work on his stamina. Joshua need to be able to keep a steady pace and distance and jab away.
Good luck on the rematch. If Joshua loose he may as well retire.

Herb Hearn owns any movement that Ruiz does, if he does not takes the fight he can take him to court (it is a contract), the judge will force him to take the match or advise that he gets stripped, and Herb Hearn will pay everything he has to, so Ruiz has to accept everything Hearns puts on the rematch contract, he does not have much of a say..Now tell me Hearn don't be slaving folks.

If what you are saying is accurate and correct then it sounds to me that the rematch clause is a hoax which doesn't exist. It's because no party can come back and make revisions to a contract once it has already been signed.

However, If Ruiz has indeed put his foot down and has been adamant about not fighting in the U.K. Then obviously, Eddie has left that part of the rematch clause blank; Meaning the venue. So yes, in that case, Ruiz does have some leverage at the bargaining table when it comes to deciding where the rematch will take place.

After all, he is the new champion. So he does have some say. You know you are a very smart and perceptive individual. Keep up the good work!

I've been trying to tell you people that Joshua took a dive in this fight with a rematch it keeps his name relevant.deontay been stealing all the attention with the Ortiz fight and Tyson and breezy fight.and with deontay and Tyson fully booked Joshua has no one to really fight to keep his name relevant other then creating drama with Ruiz with a rematch.watch how easy this rematch will be for Joshua
