Comments Thread For: Hearn: Joshua's A Little Relieved That The Pressure's Gone Now

NEW YORK Eddie Hearn is certain Anthony Joshua will be devastated once the reality of his professional defeat sinks in. Joshua's outspoken promoter also senses that the wildly popular superstar is somewhat relieved now that he has lost. Ruiz's stunning, seventh-round stoppage Saturday night cost Joshua and Hearn's company, Matchroom Boxing, a lot of money, most notably for a showdown with WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder.

What the fuck kind of mentality is that? A champion should never be relieved or happy to lose; to be knocked off the perch that they worked to climb and looking back up again like a pauper. That's a screwed up mindset.

Check ESPN my guy. Or Yahoo Sports. Or watch Sportscenter. Everyone is covering this event. The biggest event of the year by far.

And the rematch will be twice as big.

How's that make you feel Eddie? Your #1 investment can't handle pressure and is happy when he's KTFO

Same people whove been covering boxing for the last 20+ yrs lol. There is no rematch in the UK unless Al says so. Hearn doesn’t run the show

I didn't like how he looked relieved after the fight at all. I was thinking the same thing watching his post fight interview, idk if he was concussed or what but the guy seemed way too happy to lose a HUGE fight like this.

I'm starting to think he's a little TOO nice to be Heavyweight champion, yeah he does have that killer instinct in the ring when he gets his opponent hurt but I would like to see a little anger out of AJ when hes in those firefights in the middle of the ring.

There will be even more pressure on him in rematch!! If he loses then his career is pretty much down the pan.
