Moral victory? Much more than that. I'm happy for Ruiz to be the one that finally exposed Joshua. Honestly I doubt if he would beat Ortiz though. Hope we get to find out.

I guess Hearn will be thinking rematch at home for Joshua to have a better chance to get his belts back. Mentally Joshua might just be a hometown fighter, feeling vulnerable and lacking confidence on the road. If so, a second fight in the US might end up much the same.

It gives Hearn options though, as Hearn had the 'who next ?' problem before, which not so much a problem any more as Ruiz obviously next. Then Whyte will suddenly be much more keen for a rematch, then Usyk might be ready after that.

If Joshua beats Ruiz in the rematch, Whyte and Usyk would be two profitable fights during Joshua's 'rebuilding' process, which keeps him making money while staying away from Wilder and Fury.

If he wins them all (odds he beats Usyk now ?) , then time to cashout vs Wilder.

Cong**** to Ruiz. Timing is important in boxing, now we can all forget the 200 million fight. Wilder missed a big chance to be an ATG. If Ruiz were to beat AJ again and fight Wilder after that, I dont see the fight generating more money than Wilder vs AJ projection pre defeat. This is heavyweight boxing, you cant wait forever to make a fight .It takes a punch to change dynamic of a fight.

Ruiz will be bigger than Canelo after this fight should he keep knocking cats out. Should Wilder win against Ortiz, the first Mexican Heavyweight verses Wilder will be the new polarized fight that will bring out the masses.

If both can keep winning in this fashion, this fight would be bigger than AJ and Wilder. Unfortunately nothing sells like a racially polarized fight in America.

So happy this thing happened, I had written a message some days ago saying that I would favour ruiz's victory as something that could unlock hw division. Now AJ has his record ruined so he will be less reticent to fight other good boxers. Ruiz, at the same time, won't avoid anyone if the paycheck is right.

That blob can throw them. On the street I bet Ruiz had a record of 184 and 6. The six was when he got jumped by six.

You may be right about AJ, he looked like a victim. He looked like he wasn’t participating in a sport, he looked like he was getting his arse kicked.

Simply saying other fighters have bounced back from an embarrassing loss. Some like Tyson never really looked the same.

It might be, but if the cash cow losses again in the rematch, Whyte can forget about getting 5-7M?in a fight. And the same applies for Pulev, Ortiz, Miller....
