Joshua didn't respect Ruiz's power and by the time he did he was too weakened to do anything. I also think his nice guy next door personality lulled him into a sense of contentment. If you couple that his physique and you have this upset.

If Joshua isn't Frank Bruno 2.0 or David Price+, he should easily win the rematch by boxing on the outside and goring Ruiz like a bull at a bullfight.

After he knocked Ruiz down he tried to close the show slugger style

That was like trying to slug it out with butter bean .. daft move and the shot that Ruiz landed zapped all the energy out of him

Got to give it to Ruiz . Top guy and fearless hopefully the rematch has the same drama

I'm not so sure. There were shades of David Price/Tony Thompson there. Prior to Thompson, Price was highly rated, but you saw Thompson take his self confidence away in the first fight, and the lack of confidence showed up in the rematch where Price was beaten before the bell rang for the first round.

Joshua's self belief vanished in the third round, and no amount of hard physical training will bring that back. He needs coaching/therapy to get his mental game back, else he will fold every time he faces adversity.

Its 50/50 Joshua is done - there was something missing in his performance that begs explanation - and its not physical, there is something up with him mentally.

The South African special forces have a saying 'the body is 5x stronger than the mind', and what gave out on Joshua last night was his mind.

Adam Smith call of the whole fight but especially round 3 is imo the greatest in sports history.

              Goosebumps stuff

I'm not sure AJ was 100% healthy. Looked out of his depth against an inferior boxer.

Ruiz is faster yes but there's nothing to suggests he hits harder than Ortiz.

Ruiz was landing quick counters every time Joshua threw something. Joshua was surprised by the speed and kept getting caught on the top/side of the head. It's almost the same spot Klitschko caught him.

From now on expect to see Joshua get dropped quite often unless he learns to be ultra cautious. Kinda like Klitschko after he got stopped.

I couldn't have been more wrong. I was sure that Wilder would have reacted differently.

I've said it before, being fat AF in the HW division is not always a disadvantage.

Overly muscular guys like Joshua gas and never fully recover, guys like Ruiz just keep coming.

Ruiz was never tired, he wss throwing rocks all through the fight while Joshua was panting like a Labrador and pawing his jab meekly.
