Maybe I've been watching too much Muhammad Ali lately? I would like to see Ortiz vs. Kownacki fight for the right to face Wilder!
Why should the Bronx Bomber leave the U.S. for Dillian Shyte?

All of U.K. knows who he is already, especially after the Fury fight.

Wilder is calling the shots now.

That’s what I want to hear Hearn hopefully Joshua comes through Ruiz fight unscathed and we get Joshua/wilder next.... I not like the uk fan boys praying for a upset to get dreams crushed and get on making excuses ohh Breazeale beat the count etc etc

If wilder hits Aj with that same right hand Aj is done. For some reason people on this board act like Aj saying s more difficult to hit than Breazeale but Aj is a very up and down fighter with little lateral movement. If a 41 yr old klitchko tagged him so will wilder who is a lot faster . That being said I am not taking anything away from Aj as he can **** to.

i still have doubts it happens this year...and that will probably be on wilder...which is totally fine and cool with me...wilder is now building momentum and hes been jerked around by AJs side several times already....his popularity is building and is his money.....wilder is being patient now.....a year or so ago he wanted the fight and tried to make it several times in earnest...only to be played....now wilder will wait until he feels the time is right......i think hell wait till next year

Wilder cant afford to fight more bums and duck the AJ fight.

Wilder slipped and said they been talking behind the scenes so hopefully happens this year would love see wilder get in ring after aj fight in June start a stare down or announce fight for September/October if Joshua next voluntary against Whyte just so he can knock his head off and my uk brothers can come up with someone else to cry bloody murder for

This ties in with Wilder's, "If it's going to happen it's not going to be negotiated on social media" sentiment. I think he and Eddie are finally doing business. I DON'T think either side wants it next. I think they will claim they do but they're going to build it with at least 1, if not 2 more fights happening before the showdown.
Joshua has an IBF mandatory coming up, and if any body doesn't budge, it's the IBF. I've been saying this since Pulev beat Hughie. I'd rather if that's the case that Wilder/Fury II happens, but Ortiz is probably the best opponent Wilder can get if it's neither of those two. I still have Whyte losing to Rivas (if he doesn't pull out of that fight)

So we're likely looking at early 2020.

EDIT - Shelly did say something really interesting in the post fight press conference though. He said that they're trying to get Joshua or Fury, with Ortiz as a backup and he also said that they would announce a fight soon, and a second fight shortly after that...

That straight right that Wilder ended Dom with is the same punch that Klit dropped Joshua with.

Ali became "The People's Champ" b/c he took the fights "to the people!" "Rumble in the Jungle!" "Thrilla in Manila!" I believe Ali fought in 12 countries, and also fought in Puerto Rico! We don't have "World Champions" anymore! I've been watching "What's My Name" on HBO, and missing "The Champ!" Fury has come here, and Joshua is coming here, maybe Wilder should go abroad, and build his profile the way "The Greatest" did it!

In a way. Every era in the heavyweight history has its fair share of bums, contenders and "nearly good" ones. I remember when people talked of fighters such as Michael Dokes and Mike Weaver with horror, but I do believe that these two would have given Wilder a much better fight than Breazeale, who has by now shown its "potential".
