GGG's ship didn't just come in. He's been getting paid. So Abel's been getting paid too.

Granted there is this new deal thats probably his best deal per fight, but it did have the coincidence of lining up with GGG cleaning house before the deal got made so in that way it was unlucky for Abel I'd agree.

I looked into this when all this sh^t went down. This is the norm for huge draws. SRL was doing this in the 70s ffs.

GGG isn't being greedy he's being normal. How much is training worth ffs? Is there no ceiling on it? Should Floyd Sr had made $25M for the Manny fight? Should that MMA guy made $10M for McConor's fight with Floyd? I mean respect to what trainers do & loyalty does have value, but idk if a guy holding pads for 6 weeks for 2hrs a day should ever be worth a multimillion dollar payday. If a fighter is willing to give it fair play. But I don't think thats a fair expectation.

And Abel coulda been open to w/e % but GGG was able to pay what he wanted to pay. Its a business agreement. A guy can offer you whatever he wants to & you can accept it or not when there is no contract. And thats what happened.

yeah once these fighters start making 50 to 100 million that 10 percent **** is out the window, Abel got greedy he saw that GGG would be making 100 million for 3 years and some change and instead of taking 300k per fight or whatever he wanted 10 percent. I know that Freddie Roach is the highest paid trainer in boxing thanks to how generous Manny Pacquiao is. I remember Floyd Sr getting jealous of how much Roach got paid he said Manny was overpaying him and not even training him or teaching him crap.

I think it was Koncz who claimed that Roach got paid 5 million or something for the Floyd vs Pac fight, its no wonder Roach never talked crap about Manny when he left, he knew Pacman was his cash cow.

Pacman basically writes down an amount on Paper slides it to Roach and Roach nods his head in agreement and Pac writes the check. I always hear its at least a million, Pac gave Alex Ariza a brand new Maserati and matching rolex, he also paid Ariza over 100k per fight.

Yet Ariza is a piece of **** talking crap on Manny, I never liked Ariza Manny and Roach made him if it werent for Roach giving him a shot to train Pacman Ariza would never be where he is at now.

Draws don't get much bigger than Oscar De La Hoya. He paid Floyd Sr. up to $300,00 and was even willing to pay him $500,000 for the PBF fight...plus another $500,000 in the event he won.

Horrible example. Floyd Sr never cornered Oscar in the Floyd fight. And lets not act like that wasn't a unusual situation with Floyd Sr training a fighter against his son & Floyd Sr was asking for & expecting 2M of the 25M+ he knew Oscar was able to get or 8% & Oscar countered with 500k or 2% or 1M or 4% if he won. But again thats a unique situation as I can't remember anyone training a guy vs their son ever let alone in such a high profile fight as that woulda been.

He did however corner Oscar for the Mayorga fight & Oscar made $20M for that fight & if Floyd Sr made $300k thats only 1.5%. You're arguing my point with that example.

If GGG wants to go cheap and keep more money for his family then Max is the obvious choice as his new trainer. He ticks off both boxes.

Here's Angelo Dundee talking about his SRL deal & how he made $175k for the Hagler fight. SRL made $12M for Hagler. Thats 1.4% for Dundee.

And these types of numbers & fees are all over the place in news articles if you look. GGG isn't out of pocket AT ALL with this. And to be fair Abel isn't out of pocket for expecting the same deal. So neither is at fault for this situation ending. The main thing I, & I suspect most, took issue with his Abel crying in the media.

yeah, Roach was wise not to talk down on Manny, because he knew how good that payday was and look what happened another 500k payday when he reunited with Pacman against Broner.

Roach was getting paid big money more than most fighters. I remember Manny gave over 250 thousand dollars during a weight loss challenge he throws money around, he is bound to be broke.

That's about the level of trainer I would have expected he could get for that price.
