NEW YORK Bob Arum's admission that he didn't want Shakur Stevenson to fight Christopher Diaz isn't the only bone Stevenson picked with his promoter this week. Stevenson feels "disrespected" because Arum arranged for rising lightweight star Teofimo Lopez to fight in the co-main event, boxing lingo for the bout before the headliner, Saturday night at Madison Square Garden. The 21-year-old Stevenson believes his fight should be featured immediately before Terence Crawford and Amir Khan box because Stevenson insisted on facing a tough world championship challenger in just his 11th professional fight.

Lopez is more fun to watch and surely more people are much more excited to see him fight. Stevenson is very good but does not excite in the same way.

There would be more outrage among certain folk for you if Teofimo was white (especially in spite of Top Rank). As it happens, he's not and they are currently invested in using him because they don't like another white guy. It's a complicated affair right now.

Fact is, Shakur has the better fight, but he's also an asswipe so whatever I say. Teofimo isn't brawling with chicks and he is more entertaining. And to hear him say it, people are coming to see him tomorrow haha so he needs to be co-main otherwise everyone would leave after his fight.

Lopez is more exciting so far and has created more of a recent buzz for his highlight kos. Stevenson's buzz has been for hitting a girl and throwing wild clumsy punches in a South Beach parking lot.
