Murat Gassiev stepping up to Heavyweight and signed with Matchroom USA!

The 25-year-old is a former world cruiserweight champion, but lost his unbeaten record when he was beaten on points by Oleksandr Usyk.in Moscow last summer.

And Gassiev will now emulate Usyk by joining Matchroom and moving up to join the star-studded heavyweight division.

Gassiev said: "I am very happy to announce the beginning of cooperation between my promoters, URAL and Warriors with Matchroom Boxing USA and (streaming service) DAZN.

"I am confident that this cooperation will bring great results.

"I want to make all my fans around the world happy and realise my full potential in the exciting heavyweight division."

Promoter Eddie Hearn said: "I'm delighted to welcome Murat to the team.

"Having unified the division at cruiserweight, I feel Murat is a very exciting addition to the heavyweight division and what a fantastic time to join it.

"We have lots of fights ready-made for him and I can't wait to see him fighting at heavyweight very soon."
    Damn, Heavyweight is getting stacked!

He should leave DisAbel dirty Sanchez or he'll remain a plodding robot (albeit with good cardio). DisAbel's fighters just plod forward mindlessly and their gameplan never changes, because DisAbel is a glorified conditioning coach who poaches talented boxers and claims their successes as his own.

DisAbel Dirty Sanchez has a big freaking nose too. Damn boi get that nose checked out son, you stealing all that air in high altitude Big Bear.

... surely, Gassiev will make more money at the HW... but he will not able to compete vs the "giants" in the division (AJ, Fury)...

I know... but he doesn't hold enough "reach" (76"/193cm)... Usyk beat him in a shutout...
