In a way it was a financial gamble with guaranteed money. He wins and perhaps he gets Pac or someone else. He loses he still got a career payday.
Hard to say if any of that would have occurred had he been fighting in those years.
Time will tell if all those punches damaged him though.Last edited by jreckoning; 03-17-2019, 10:45 AM.

Smaller man or not, when youve been beat that badly the aura has completely gone and casuals will associate him with stinking out the place against spence. It was a nice payday for him but its hard to know where he goes from here. A lomachenko garcia fight wont be that big any more and if it does he will be the firm b side, what does mikey even bring to the table? Not a great cv thats for sure. Even khan gave canelo a few problems early, mikey literally did nothing and even though he went the distance he gave a worse account of himself imo. Was harsh on spence in the build up but he had no problems in the fight, easy payday for him,hes probably laughing at people who spent money on it based on a promotion built around mikey 'seeming confident' and 'Leonard duran doe'
He moved up 2 weight classes after being #1 at 126, 130, and 135.
He jumped 2 weight classes - in his 30s - and was never hurt by a much bigger, longer fighter who boxed behind his jab all night.
Mikey was clearly outboxed but at no point was he hurt or in danger.
If you felt the fight was embarrassing or boring - blame the 147 pounder who walks around at 180 and couldnt hurt the 135 Lightweight. Errol was afraid to let his hands go and get the KD or stoppage.
Pathetic.

He lost convincingly but went the distance and didn’t get dropped or boot f.ucked like every other Spence opponet .

We all saw this coming when he started talking that dumb **** about fighting Spence. He is a money pig. Now he is hoping Pac gives him a fight which realistically could happen. Doesnt want to fight Danny and eat left hooks nor does he want to sign with DAZN and get forced into a fight where he gets his ass whipped by the Prograis/Taylor winner.

Loma went for it and failed, it happens. What you wanted him to do? wait around at 135 hoping for the loma fight that is never going to happen? or wait around at 140 till the wbss is finished? He went after greatness and came up short, and people make fun of him saying he sees something Mikey never really aid that himself everyone around him said that and even if he did the way Spence fought mikey was in a manner he never fought anyone else before so what mikey possibly could have seen didnt present itself that night.
You damned if you do and damned if you dont.

Mikey going up to fight Spence was foolish on his part. Then he fought as if he was just happy to get to the end of the fight. He definitely damaged his reputation with that fight. He needs a solid performance against a good opponent to get his credibility back. He doesn't belong at 147.
