We don't know if he didn't try. He could of tried and figured out he had nothing after the first 3-4 rounds then went into survival mode. He didn't go out on his shield and yea that's bothersome but it's his health not yours. He still got in the ring with Spence when we have champs who avoid other fighters/champs in their own weight class. That's better than watching a bunch of fighters play politics and blame eachother for the fight not happening.

I'm sure the plan was to win he just did not expect to be so thoroughly out boxed. Mikey just didn't have any answers for Spence. It happens. Just because your chasing greatness doesn't mean you are going to be great.

The Garcias said over and over and over that Spence only has size and power and look how that turned out. This "moral victory" is not a good example of daring to be great when the fight is one sided.

Mikey and his team got Spence all wrong and are just happy Mikey survived. I would of much rather he fought Linares or someone else to set up a Loma fight. It's seems the majority on here thought Spence would win. its unfortunate though you got guys like Porter talking about fighting Spence but then playing games once he wins a title. Little Mikey at least got in the ring while you got guys at WW avoiding Spence. I think that's their moral victory. It still seems hollow to me too and more like a built in excuse they had ready in case he lost.

There is no crow to eat here, Spence couldnt put down or knock out a fighter two divisions smaller than him. Mikey hung in there exchanging with him full force. He won the respect of everyone, and I won.
