At this point, Kov is definitely not the same, but I think still good enough to win. I wouldn't count yards out though. If he catches kov on the chin like ward and Alvarez, might hear "And New!"

Comments Thread For: Sergey Kovalev vs. Anthony Yarde is Ordered By WBO

I'm going with Yarde, he does something very well that is Kovalev Absolute Weakness and that is BODY PUNCHING!
Not worried about the "Who Has He Fought" "He Hasn't Fought Anybody" every fighter was once at that stage in their career. This is how STARS are born, when fans and boxing experts doubt them and they go out and do what everybody said they couldn't do
I feel the Shoulder Roll and Yarde Quickness will Frustrate Kovalev on top of just getting Kovalev at the right time. The Alvarez rematch performance is being completely overblown, that to me was more about what Alvarez DID NOT DO! Terrible Gameplan from Him in that rematch!

Wow am shocked that Team Yarde are actually going for it. The only reason the WBO would order it is if Team Yarde wanted that fight. For once am giving Yarde props. Fighting the level he has been fight to jumping in with Kovalev is something to applaud them on.

Frank and Tundi are praying for the Bivol unification to be made!
I think Yarde can beat the Kovalev that lost to Alvarez but I think he loses the boxing match against the rematch Kovalev. Really hope Yarde steps up, wins the fight and calls out Hosea Burton after!

No no, YOU guys said he had no chance. Not me. At least, you guys said that after previously saying he would KO him and everyone else at 175.
So no, I see the danger in someone with good (inconsistent but good when he does it) head movement, elite speed, and elite or near elite power, experience or not. How could you not? And vs someone who was KO'd just two fights ago. If this fight gets made, it will be one of the most exciting matchups on the calender. Two of the most talented boxer-punchers in the sport, Kovalev and Yarde. One experienced but aging, one totally unproven but it's still clear to see the talent that is there, even if the lack of experience also means he has some technical flaws still. Maybe in Kovalev's prime those technical flaws would be a dealbreaker, but with Kovalev not punching as hard anymore, all it may really mean is Yarde has to walk through a few shots before getting the KO. It doesn't mean he can't win.
