I think that fight could go either way. I think Canelo is better, faster and hits harder than Ward so sue me. Kovalev looked very good last time out and he has a good weight and reach advantage and his famous punching power and left jab. Canelo improves with every fight and he is a great LEGAL body puncher.Canelo has very fast hands. He has faster hands than anyone Kovalev ever fought. Canelo has the power in both hands to hurt or KO Kovalev and Kovalev could hurt or KO Canelo.

Bivol is a terrific fighter who says making 168 is no problem at all. I think Bivol beats everyone at 168 and 175 including Canelo.

A fight with Canelo/Kovalev at 168 ends with Kovalev passing out before the weigh in.
Kovalev/Canelo at 175 and Canelo gets belted lol. You think Kovalev is rocky fielding ? It’d be an absolute mismatch. Best he keep his eyes on Jacobs, that dude is no gimme fight

Let’s see how Canelo goes against Jacobs before he jumps two divisions to take on Kovalev. Which would be complete suicide and something his handlers would never have happen, and rightly so

I think it'd be unlikely to happen. First despite the last fight I think Kov is on the decline & there are some quality opponents who could end his reign as easily as the other Alvarez did the first time around. Secondly I think Canelo would 100% employ a catchweight that its unlikely Kov would agree to or could make for fight night.
But yea if there is some 170lb catchweight that Kov can make, even at reduced strength, I don't hate Canelo's chances at collecting a third belt at all in this fight.
Hadn't thought much about Canelo fighting above 160 even after the Fielding fight, but yea considering it more seriously I could see Canelo catching big name wins above 160 in the right situations. And being the money guy he can persuade people into a right situation type of fight.
