Yeah, there were a ton of guys in the top 5 of Tank's division that would have taken the fight with him on 10 days notice. Does anyone in these comments even remember how we got this fight? Of course it was a mismatch! And Tank treated it like a mismatch and got the guy out of there in the first round. What more do you want with a last minute replacement?

Props to Davis for doing exactly what he was supposed to do. He blew out an obviously overmatched, smaller opponent in one round. The kid has great skills, great speed and power to boot. He has superstar written all over him.
Now for the criticism. This guy really needs to step up the competition level. He reminds me of a lot of the path Gary Russell had leading up to his demolishing at the hands of Loma. I know it's not his fault but he should have been in there with Machado last night. On top of that he came in heavy so he was fighting a much smaller man in the ring.
C'mon Floyd. Put this kid in there with a live body so we can see what he really has.

I'm simply talking about the fact that he blew out a totally outmatched, smaller opponent which was exactly what he was supposed to do. With that being said; the fight itself was on obvious mismatch that should have never been made. It reminded me of when they fed Josesito Lopez to Canelo as a late substitute opponent for Victor Ortiz.

Tank is good but the promoters fail to realize they are taking this young thug the same route as broner.... they are blowing his ego way out of proportion and will eventually lose track of reality.... him not making weight is the first sign of that... this will be another great example of when "keepnt' real" goes wrong!!

You think any fighter at a presser would say, "Yeah, I think I have a chance in coming out with the victory but then there's the possibility I might lose". At the end of the day, Ruiz got a good pay day having just fought on January 19th before this fight and landed on PPV. Give credit to him for at least willing to try even though we knew it wasn't doable given the circumstances.Last edited by doom_specialist; 02-10-2019, 02:16 PM.
