Comments Thread For: Luis Ortiz: Zero Respect For Joshua, At Least Wilder Stepped Up

Cuban southpaw Luis Ortiz likes drawing comparisons between some of his more impressive results and those of others, even though he's fully aware that styles make fights in boxing. In July, for example, the 6-foot-4, 240-plus-pound "King Kong" Ortiz (29-1, 25 KOs) flattened Razvan Cajanu in the second round to rebound from a three-knockdown, 10th-round stoppage loss in March to 6-foot-7 WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (40-0, 39 KOs), whom Ortiz had badly hurt and nearly out on his feet in the seventh round.

No chance he beats Joshua, he'd be countered all night. He couldn't walk down Joshua like he done Wilder, and he'd be getting punched back for the first 4 rounds, unlike Wilder, who ran and was trying to take him deep.

Ortiz is promoting himself but he's out the loop now, fighting guys like Cojanu and Kauffman. Until he beats another top guy he needs to STFU.

Agree that Ortiz needs to get back in the queue. He got his title shot and got KTFO. Beating stiffs like Kauffman & Cojanu shouldn't get him another shot.

would like Ortiz to get the April 13th date so Joshua can decapitate him in 3 rounds

“Joshua is one of the best or he wouldn’t have a belt," - not true, C.Martin is a recent example of this

"Takam gave Joshua some trouble" - Takam didn't win a round, how on earth is that giving trouble? Being a little awkward was where it stopped for Takam

Ortiz would give joshua many troubles. He has a chance to win that fight

I'd love to see Ortiz and AJ get it cracking rather than Whyte put in a "valiant" effort before being KO'd in 6 in April.

Considering I would favor Takam, Wlad and Parker over Ortiz, I'd say he needs to go back to the gym, work on his stamina, and add a few names to his own resume before opening his mouth.
