What a crooked sanctioning body that deferred title defence for 2+ years!.. oh wait... oops, someone needs to google "Alvarez Stevenson same promoter step aside money"?

Wow, what an ignorant. Alvarez was Adonis's mandatory FOR " COMPLETE YEARS and never had the chance to fight him because ADONIS DUCKED him. After he was ASSURED he could fight Adonis after his fight against Pascal, WBC changed their mind and ask Alvarez to face Gvozdyk to be the mandatory... which he already was since 2 full years.
He didn't ducked him ; He was ALREADY the mandatory and wanted to have a shot with a champion. He said F*** Off and Yvon Michel called Kovalev (Who was at that moment a lot more feared than the unknown Gvozdyk) for a title fight. We all know how it ended.

Storm Alvarez can def stop Kov again, the Krusher is done !

He’s old, cracked chin and his invincibility cloak is gone which aided his power and skills!

Doesn’t help he’s switching trainers like I switch my clothes, I expect it to be a tough fight cuz Kovalev is a prideful fighter but he will get knocked out again and go out on his shield!

Kovalev maybe a racist with arrogance to match but unlike today’s fighters he did fight the best and ducked no one!

I think Alvarez vs Stevenson is 50/50 along with Bivol, they can all beat and lose to each other again interchangeably!

175 is one of the best divisions in boxing and it’s a shame prime Kovalev didn’t have this many competitors around!

Very surprised Kovalez went to rematch after taking bad beat down in 1st bout.

Marcus Brown looks ranked highly across the boards, Badou Jack similarly so. There's plenty of other decent established and up-and-coming names in the division as well; Murat, Boesel, Valera, Koeling, Smith, Barrera, Lee, Yarde, even Buatsi is looking like he could jump the queue within a few fights.
kovalev looked great til the KO.

The Nail will take Adonis into the late rounds and then pounce on him like he was prey for a jackal. Of course, he must avoid the left hook and Jack laid out the blueprint on how to do that.

He gassed the round before, Kovalev still thinks he can fight like a 25-30 year old. If he accepts his age and tailors his style slightly to fit, he may get another year or so at the top. But I think he's either too stubborn, or is simply unable to change. The re-match should answer all questions, if the same thing happens Kovalev may as well hang up his gloves. If he wins, expect a big money unification at the Russian Luzhniki stadium against Bivol or Beterbiev before he retires.
