Comments Thread For: Crawford Frustrated at Times; "I Don't Get the Credit I Deserve"

OMAHA, Nebraska Terence Crawford knows what his detractors will state and write now that he has stopped Jose Benavidez Jr. The unbeaten WBO welterweight champion expects them to degrade Benavidez, who was competitive with Crawford for five rounds before Crawford took control and beat him by 12th-round technical knockout Saturday night at CHI Health Center. The three-division champion has grown used to such criticism during his ascent toward the top of pound-for-pound lists.

When people have you as number 1 pound for pound how can you say you don't get the credit you deserve?

Beat a 'real' fighter... Someone that is actually a threat in your weight class and you will get the credit you're crying for.

Maybe if you stopped fighting bums then you would get respect. That simple

Is this guy for real? He gets too much respect considering his level of opposition. People have him p4p number 1 and hes fought noone.

What is with all these American fighters like Crawford and Ward who are ranked in top 3 P4P by every establishment media outlout imaginable without ever beating a prime top opponent complaining about not getting the credit they deserve, often claiming racism and so on, while at the same time usually cutting down fighters who have accomplished more than them whenever they are asked in an interview. "I don't know if GGG is for real or not" and **** like that as recently as a year or two ago, when GGG fought and dominated way better opponents, but then they claim they're not getting enough credit. Fighters that have way better wins than you, you **** on them, but then you complain you're not getting enough credit? It's the same **** over and over with these modern protected American boxers and it gets old.

He’s number 1 on my list as well and he has actually not done much to deserve it. He’s top of my list based mostly on what it appears he could do. If anything people are giving him more credit than he deserves. Stop crying Bud and get to work

He knows what he needs to do, until then I can only judge him by his last opponent who he was a 25 to 1 favorite over! If he wants credit he’ll have to step it up!

All about eye test we see the skills now just need to show can pull through and win convincingly against top competition and don’t wait until you 34 yrs old to actually take on top guys

Going back to the Gamboa fight here's who he has fought:

                    Benavidez
                    Horn
                    Indongo
                    Diaz
                    Molina Jr.
                    Postol
                    Lundy
                    Jean
                    Dulorme
                    Beltran

All B level and C level opposition. Nobody is saying he's not a terrific fighter -- he clearly is, but his resume (whether you want to say it's his fault or not) is very, very reminiscent of GGG's resume prior to Gennady facing Jacobs & Canelo. Just a long line of overmatched opponents with none of them being anywhere near A level.
