Antonio Tony is the most feared welter why because he is a 12 round opponent who has power , if your gonna come at me with who's he fought goes the same for THe so called punisher ther is not sufficient credibility on both sides although who is holding the WBO #1 welterweight belt who is going after it THE punisher , just like margarito is mayweather its all about the money. Besides the only lame credibility he has is with mitchell who is a has been(in regards to punisher).(moving on to Mayweather) Besides who has mayweather really fought at welter is really at the peak of their career it for sure was not gatti, he was fighting a household name, it for sure was not mitchell that was just a confidence builder to move in the division. The real question is can Mayweather take a welterweight punch i think not, I will mark his own If it makes dollars it makes sense , well 8 million on the line did not make sense for a margarito fight but a baldomir title did for less amt and a lesser risk how convenient and grab the belt at the same time to be in the drivers seat until may 5 for a possible goldenboy whopping which i doubt. The fact of the matter is i respect fighters who do not duck 8 million dollar purses for fights they believe they can lose. Besides the Mental Battle has been won. Potential Maybe , Star Quality I think not , it takes a lot to be a star and he is not near that level yet. If you know boxing you should know about the marquez brothers both champions take for example Juan Manuel Marquez (jr featherweight) he fought Manny P. he got knocked down 3 times in the first round from then on he won round by round bleeding. In the face of adversity he triumphed not to win but to get a controversial draw , in my personal oponion he won that fight clearly but paul has not been in that situation yet because he has fought no one of star caliber a sound 12 round technical fighter who puts his punches together. He throws 100 punches a round trying to make it an early night that is not boxing ,mayweather would beat him to the punch and he would not even get touched because of his impecable defense, margarito would drill him with his lethal uppercuts and strong overhand rights,winkie wright would frustate him with his defense/offense and powerful right hand jab. He needs some work im sure his trainers will work with him but has a lot of foot work , and hand speed to work on.

I like the guy Paul Williams...but he does alot of things wrong to hop in with a quality welter. Would love to see him get his shot though. I dont belive he is being ducked...just aint made enough noise yet to get noticed.

Paul is a good fighter, but his skills are nowhere near top competition. At this point of his career, one big loss is all its gonna take to get dropped all the way to the bottom. This is the same hype that was going on a couple months ago about Julio, they threw him in there with a superior boxer and where is he now? Can we say he got exposed, because the same thing is gonna happen to Paul. Let the big fights come when they're due, this kid needs to work on those rough edges before putting him in there against a champ.

Paul Williams is definitely one of the top promising prospects around.. but that's all he is: Promise and Talent. He hasn't matured enough yet and by no account has he fought the level of competition yet to be considered THE top welterweight. Give him a couple years and a few competative fights vs top notch talent and then we'll talk. I honestly don't think he could even beat Cotto right now.

how can u say aldomir is a easier fight, he has a far far better record than Margarito, you cant say AM is harder without having sufficient evidence to back it up
