Again mister sensitive...I didn't knock anything about Loma. I just don't think he is p4p #1. I also think a lot of his fans want him crowned #1 more than they want to see him fight the Mickey or anyone at 140. Wanting to fight someone isn't fighting them. I base my p4p list on who you fought and how you beat them.

Bud's going to have to up his game if he want to fight Spence and Thurman. He can't afford to start slow with a pawing jab. He's a smart guy and probably realizes this but what he did this fight won't work against those two.

I don't have a top guy right now. If I had a general top 5 (Crawford, Loma, Alvarez, Spence, and Usyk). All 5 still have more to do to separate themselves from the others.

No one fan or fan boy will say directly that they don't want to see a match up of two top tier fighters, but you can read between the lines when the potential fight is discussed.

Crawford would beat Peterson. Peterson seems to have no drive to actually win, he'll compete for the sake of competing but I don't think he has any actual burning desire to win. Danny is up in the air; if this is the same Danny Garcia that went into the Porter fight then Danny is going to lose. Danny needs a fire lit under him to ascend to the next level and I think Angel is going to smother that fire. To be honest I think Danny needs a new head coach and his dad as a second coach to take him to the next level but I don't think Angel can accept that.

Will agree to disagree on the Peterson matchup for now.

Fighters are weird, from what I've seen anyway; if something were to happen to Angel Garcia and Danny had to get a new trainer, I think that that would actually ruin Danny as a fighter.

As wild as he is, Danny would fight Godzilla if he knew he had his Dad backing him. I don't picture Danny Garcia putting that level of commitment onto any other trainer. It's an odd co-dependency, but it happens a ton in boxing (James Kirkland-Ann Wolfe, for example).

If Terence Crawford is as prodigious a talent as folks make him out to be, there's no way that you were supposed to have that much two-way action with a fighter the level of Jeff Horn.

Racism is just a sub part of bigotry anyway and to be racist you discriminate or show prejudice to a race or ethnicity, the nation you are from is part of your ethnicity. So yeah consistently prejudicing the acheivement to be less than there American counter parts is a form of racism. Just because its no one was murdered doesn't mean it's not so.

Now? No. Everyone knew this was a terrible fight.

Me, personally, I was fine with it because of the s hit talking and history but make no mistake, I’m not sure I saw anyone but a troll or two who knew the way the fight would turn out. I didnt expect Bevavidez to outbox/fight him in spots until he lost all mobility.


I used to actually like Benavidez and thought he showed more promise than his brother until he got shot and just kind of fell off the radar.

This wasnt some pick ‘em fight and watching you revel in this kind of victory is really odd. It’s like celebrating GGG beating Vanes or something odd.

We were all saying either “well, this fight might be better than expected but next time Bud needs a top dog.” Or “Cherry pick.”

The su****ions were only exacerbated by his sudden stopping of all movement and watching his leg shake.

Unfortunately for Benavidez, that “injury” likely cost him his career.


I get that you’re happy Bud won, we all are..but it all suddenly became very clear to most that he is definitely not considered one of the top two at Welter and maybe even top 3 until he proves it. Benavidez was indeed underrated and no credit should be taken from him but Bud might be in for a ride awakening against healthier, better skilled, bigger punching WW.

The only reason I watched the fight is because I love boxing period. It was competitive for a little while, much longer than I thought it would be. But I only wanted Bud to win so we as fans can see him in the ring with better competition. A lost to Jose doesn’t benefit us as fans.

Can’t argue with that and for the most part, I think most of us agree on that. As much as I like Benavidez and a good upset, I’m very much intrigued at the other matchups Bud can have and thought a win for bud was better for the sport and for the division.
