Comments Thread For: Devin Haney: I'm The New 'Money' - I'm Ready For All Champs!

I like his ambition but he should slow his pace a little before reality sets in. Only 19 years old, He was taking a couple big shots last night against a non puncher. A stronger more relentless boxer will give him some trouble in his young career. If he can juggle the showside with the boxing then its all good, but at 19 i feel like he should slow down a bit and let himself mature a bit more

Devin Haney and Teofimo Lopez are the real deal. Hopefully they don't rush things because both of them are still really young

Right past the Pretty Boy stage of the career and straight to Money part. Not sure it works like that

To see if he's ready for prime time, his next 4 fights a for next year should be:

          Tony Luis
          Edner Cherry
          Hank Lundy
          Javier Fortuna

Title shot in 2020 if he pases those test.

I hope Loma & Mikey call him out on twitter or IG this week lol. Cuz they ARE the champs at 135. Mikey gots two belts. Loma is almost assured of having two belts after the Pedraza fight in December so thats who Haney is saying he's ready for.

I feel like he'll walk back his comments sooner or later &/or he's just making hype right now cuz those are two fights I don't see the point in right now or hell in the next 12 months. Time is on Haney's side & while I think he could beat a guy as highly considered a guy as Easter his next time out, based on what I've seen of him so far (& honestly just in these last 2 fights, cuz the first 18 guys were garbage), I don't see the upside of having your reach exceed your grasp so soon into your career.

This kid is delusional. Mikey and Loma would school him. He's more AB jr. than Floyd jr.

Haney ain't on Loma or Mikeys radar lol.
This like Spence calling out Thurman back in 2014-2015 lol.

Yep, the prospect needs more time to develop.

Sh^t he only fought twice this year. That schedule gots him booked for 2019 & 2020 lol.

And honestly I think he's past a guy like Lundy already. Lundy just took an L to some 9-0 guy. I mean as a keep busy fight it wouldn't be bad, but I think Haney should look higher for his next fight. The other 3 I could see being next or within his next few fights.

I definitely don't see him close to fighting a champ at 135. Idk if he'd go up or down for a title fight. Maybe there are better fights to make down (I'd favor him over Tevin Farmer for his belt all day if he can make 130, lowest he's been recently was 132 18mos ago & supposedly he beat Tank in sparring, but sparring is sparring so that might not be a good idea) or up (I think I'd favor Haney over Hooker & that cat who beat the Cuban cat).
