He’s done it before and he will do it again by a wider margin. Canelo will throw flashy combos but Golovkin will keep on him, jabbing away and rack up a UD

Would you be surprised if GGG actually outboxes Canelo?

This thread is real confusing. I like everyone else thought ggg already outboxed nelo
Ggg didn't show as many ways of avoiding getting hit though. Nell was like trying showing his full repertoire of how he avoids getting hit. And he had to as Ggg was throwing leather

Do jabs count as real punches? Alot of time on NSB, I've noticed they aren't recognized as such.

Do not be surprised to see a more aggressive Canelo more willing to fight on the inside this time around as he had a lot of success there in the 1st fight.
Remember Canelo being the bigger younger faster more powerful guy against cotto, yet he decided to box and put on a lackluster performance.

He landed more punches than Canelo and out jabbed him 4 to 1 even though they have the same reach. I thought GGG won so to me he already did out box him and out fought him. I expect him to attack behind his great left jab be I think he will be pushing for a KO win not a points victory.

Plus, i think Ward is a level above what Canelo is, i don't think Canelo is as smart as Ward.
i think GGG is more difficult to beat/hurt than Kovalev and has a more relentless style. Not saying he's better or worse, just different. Kovalev was actually a pretty tidy (and underrated) boxer with big power, he would "box" with you more than GGG does, who is more of a pressure fighter. i think it's there's more room to adjust to someone like Kovalev. Ward basically adjusted in the first fight and carried on where he left off, but we can't say Canelo really made any adjustments in the first fight and took over.
i understand where you're coming from, i just think all these fighters mentioned are different in style and the scenario is different.Last edited by TheBigLug; 09-14-2018, 05:53 PM.

You're not just outboxing your opponent if you're just boxing on the backfoot, counter occassionally and have some good defense. By outboxing your opponent you need to out think your opponent and have the better strategy/gameplan. Make the guy do something he doesnt want to do.
I swear 70% of this forum thinks if you have good defense and you are boxing on the backfoot you are automatically outboxing your opponent. Its Complete BS
