Comments Thread For: Dmitry Bivol 'Happy to Fight Eleider Alvarez' on December 8

ATLANTIC CITY Dmitry Bivol believed entering his light heavyweight title defense Saturday night that he was headed toward a showdown with Sergey Kovalev. Preliminary negotiations began before Saturday's HBO doubleheader for Kovalev to battle Bivol in a 175-pound title unification fight December 8. Kyrgyzstan's Bivol (14-0, 11 KOs) did his part by defeating durable South African Isaac Chilemba (25-6-2, 10 KOs) by unanimous decision in the 12-round opener of HBO's broadcast from Etess Arena at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino.

I hope Kovalov exercises his rematch clause and if loses the retires. That was a perfect punch at the perfect time. Lets see if lightning can strike twice. It was a fun fight! Im down to see a rematch.

Bivol seens to me to be too green for Alvarez. Alverez showed great patience and calmness in the Kovalov fight I felt his corner did an EXCELLENT job keeping him cool and calm as we even knowing he was probably down on the scorecards.

Bivol out boxes Alvarez and stops him late. Would be a really good unification fight betweent 2 undefeated guys though

Hell yeah! Make it happen. Alvarez vs. Bivol, Gvozdyk vs Stevenson (I wish). Throw in Beterbiev somewhere and we may have an undisputed LHW champ, and a likely member of top5 P4P.

WBC ordered Stevenson vs Gvozdyk... I don't know if Yvon Michel would let his other belt holder Alvarez into a unification fight next...
