Then why did Canelo turn into the same "marathon runner" that he called Lara?

He rode shots well but he was scared stiff of GGG's power.

Any decent pro knows how to survive 12 rounds if that's their only objective in the fight and nothing else. Canelo went in that fight to survive 12 rounds and land the odd potshot and flurry, knowing the judges will do the rest. Surviving was his main objective.

Canelo hit GGG with a hell of a right hand...then Canelo was the one that backed off. If he wasn't too concerned about anything coming back, he would've tried to follow it up.

      Ran like a scared rabbit

WOW! For a guy who claims GGG's power is overhyped he sure ran like a scared rabbit for 12 rounds. If it wasn't for the corrupt judging we wouldn't even be having this conversation since Canelo hadiilly lost the first fight running like a scared rabbit. Sure! his fan base will invent a win for this guy no matter how bad he does but the video doesn't lie and Canelo ran like he lost his diaper some where and looked scared and worried each time GGG trapped his scared butt in the corners. Funny how he got pummeled ring post to ring post then throws one or two punched at the end of the round to just get GGG away from him and his fan base starts screaming"Canelos round!!!" Hilarious!!

Canelo took Golovkin's shot well. I wouldn't say he ran but he did keep going back to the ropes. I'm assuming he did that to preserve his cardio. Golovkin does have power but it's not devastating. If you stand in front of him he will bust you up. If you go in full retreat he will chase you down and batter you. If you move effectively and counter him like Jacobs and Canelo he seems to be an ordinary fighter. Heck, Willie Monroe stood in front of him and made him miss for a good stretch.

Answering questions, answering questions. You used to be quicker. But then that whole "VADA thing". His power is pretty good and didn't hurt you, but...then that whole "VADA thing". I respect his standpoint, I really do. Trying to mentally prepare in interview after interview saying this and that. But like Tyson Fury said before the Klitschko fight, he's trying to talk himself into this. Vegas cats are pretty smart. There's a reason the "old" Golovkin is favored again (again). Drug testing and stamina issues prior to 3 years ago when a metamorphosis in the body began occurring at weigh-ins (shhh), you're going to need a mental edge--especially with VADA up the arse as they supposedly have been. Unfortunately, you'll have to find an alternate route, as that training camp up in NorCal is as tough as they come.

Must be why you had your track shoes on trying to set world records on the 1/4 mile? Lying fraud!

Him saying GGG power didnt affect him is like when a fighter gets hit good and he shakes his head and says no. If I knew my opponents power wasnt affecting me I would walk him down amd finish the job. Thats not what happened Canelo chose to still be on his bike the whole time for a reason. He felt the power

Canelo fought a totally different style to avoid GGG's power. He is a lying sack. Canelo chased Lara the whole fight, hardly landing, and gets mega credit for "effective aggression". Vs GGG he and his fans called it "boxing", when he did basically the same thing that Lara did to him. GGG won the first fight no question.

Because that’s the strategy with everyone. Just let em hit you. That’ll show em!

Anyway he’s not saying GGG doesnt have power. He’s just saying it’s not some abnormal world shattering power.

What an odd thing for people to say “but then you boxed lolol.” Like...yeah? Hit and dont get hit is the name of the game. He outlanded him in power shots and made GGG miss his. Why fight the other guy’s fight? I’ll never understand people saying ridiculous stuff like that. There’s boxing and then there’s CLEAR avoidance of contact like that one bhop fight a long time ago. The GGG fight wasnt the latter. It was a great fight on both ends with sound strategies

Those Beef tacos must have helped him absorb the power and move likes he’s never fought before.
If GGG didn’t have power, then Canelo would have fought like he normally does. He did everything possible to avoid GGG power, which is ok to survive, but you can’t take the titles from the champion that way, unless you have Adalaide Byrd scoring the fight
