Man Kovalev is not racist...at least I don't believe so.

Many people take things out of the cultural context.

People call people "chimps" or "monkeys" in other countries all the time.

If Kovalev called Gvozdyk a "chimp" no one would say he was racist.

But he happened to call Adonis a "chimp" and wore the T-Shirt and now that makes him racist? He's Russian, he comes from a place were 98% of people look just like him. He's not privy to American cultural nuances.

He also made a comment about a lot of the black guys in American gyms talking a lot of **** and being confrontational, where say east euros and latinos not so much. Was he wrong? I've went to plenty of gyms and ran enough YMCA ball to confirm that a fare share of black guys like to talk a lot of **** more so than others, but I've been around here long enough to know that it's all part of the game, and now do the exact same thing LOL...someone like Kovalev wouldn't know that.

Does Kovalev need some cultural sensitivity training? I guess so yes, given that he spends a lot of time in the states. But to flat call him racist? I don't think so...and I don't particularly like the guy.
