I totally agree with you! This should be applauded! I don't see Mikey bullying Spence Jr., like Duran bullied Leonard Jr., but I also don't see Mikey quitting like Rigo quit when he moved up 2 weight classes to fight Loma! Spence Jr. vs. Garcia is good for boxing!

I also think that if Canelo wins in September, and Spence Jr. wins in December, Spence Jr. should do what Mikey is doing, and call out Canelo @ 160! Jerry Jones and Oscar can make that a very big deal for Cinco de Mayo 2019!

Completely agree with your breakdown of Mikey-Spence, I think Mikey would come up short but would likely gain a lot of respect in the process.

As for Canelo-Spence, that fight would be HUGE for Texas. I抦 from Liverpool so I flew out to Dallas, to watch Canelo-Smith and I抎 likely do the same if he was to fight Spence.

If I抦 honest though, I don抰 see Canelo beating GGG, but even still Canelo-Spence would be a HUGE deal.

The issue is both guys have good fights to do in their respective divisions to prove that they're the best in their divisions. I like both fighters but hate this fight.

I get where you are coming from, but Loma obviously isn抰 a realistic option for December as he抯 fighting the winner of Beltran/Pedraza and I assume the DSG/Porter winner isn抰 a December option for Spence based on how irregularly those guys fight.

So I see zero problem with this fight in the meantime- a big fight between two elite fighters, both guys stay active against a relevant name and both guys get paid.

I like Terence Crawford. He's one of my all-time favorites. Still, while Errol Spence is talking about taking on Danny Garcia, Shawn Porter, Mikey Garcia, etc., Terence Crawford is talking about Manny Pacquiao. Think Errol Spence is too big of a puncher. Could be this decades Sugar Ray Leonard vs. Tommy Hearns, though.

Spence has easier access to those fights though. Crawford basically can only fight the last man standing of the PBC guys so it's not like a lack of ambition. It's the reality.

I think Mikey only has two fights at 135 though. Two good solid wins but I think Lomachenko beating the guy who was the clear cut #1 in the division gives him a decided edge as far as claiming superiority at the weight.

I抦 fine with people rating Loma as the #1 guy at 135 because he抯 the most talented fighter on the planet from my perspective. I personally don抰 think his win over Linares surpasses what Mikey has done at 135 though.

Loma was very impressive in various spots in that fight, however he did struggle at times and was also put down albeit on route to winning in impressive fashion.
Whereas Mikey has won pretty flawlessly in both his fights at 135, he arguably lost a couple of rounds to Easter but he was always well in control of the fight.
