I think understanding the limitation of a fighters style and size is what smart teams do.

Loma might just top out at 135-like Floyd at 147-and pick and choose fights to go up when he thinks he has the best chance of being successful.
If there was anyone (worthy of the risk) who Loma could beat at 140, it's Manny Pacquiao!

They know that Pac is a weak negotiator, especially without TR in the corner. They will make Pac go down to 135 and take a $2 million flat fee.

"Can" do it, yes, probably. But there's no reason for him to.
With fighting at welter for so long, and being much older now, cutting much weight won't be as easy as previously.

If Loma wants the fight he should go to 140. If he won't then Pacquiao should just move on.

If they hold on this, it confirms what some of us thought about Loma's ability to move up. And it probably makes Mikey more of a favorite against Loma (well in my mind anyway lol).

Let's see what happens. If Khan gets this fight, it'll feel a little cheap lol
I think 135 is his ceiling! I just hope Mikey can hold at 135. I know Loma will fight the WBO Champion, but if he fights Manny, then the WBO Champion, Mikey might as well go back to 140, or test the waters @ 147!

Pac will be weight drained at 135, like De La Hoya was when he fought Pac. He'd get stopped in the same manner. Even 140 is somewhat risky for Pac but 135 spells certain doom.

If only there was a highly rated fighter at welterweight.

Didn’t watch the fight. But sounds like Manny should have carried Matthysse a bit if he really wanted to fight this overrated pus Lomachencko.
