He cut off the ring just fine. Canelo was backed up on the ropes plenty, was cornered plenty, and never had the center of the ring. Golovkin missed more than usual, but that's to be expected against someone with Canelo's defensive reflexes.

His issue was being too cautious and not letting his hands go when he had Canelo cornered. He gave Canelo's power a lot of respect, was afraid to let it fly and didn't hit the body much because he didn't want to get countered. According to him, he hit Canelo in the body a couple of times and the ref warned him for hitting too far in the back, so he abandoned the body attack. Not sure how much I trust that explanation. On one hand, it's possible, and he knew he's in Canelo country and didn't want to have points docked. On the other hand, I feel like he should have tried a few more times - especially later on when Canelo slowed down.

You need to go watch the fight again if you think he didn't cut off the ring successfully.

if Lil G is true an elite talent he should done it just like Pac buried Hatton or Floyd dismantled Coralles, you know that's the kind of thing elite fighter do to B-class fighter.
And if those two didn't lose to Morales and Castillo in their primes they would be elite too......

See how fkn ****** that sounds? Just stfu. You really don't know what you are taking about because you can't stand GGG.

P4P#1 = ELITE. END OF STORY.

GGG cant cut off slick white chocolate.

Between his slickness and his massive snake, Canelo is the blackest white mexican fighter I ever saw.

GGG tried to box Canelo on the outside, he was hesitant to crowd him on the inside because he was intimidated by his massive trouser snake. Either out of jealousy or because he didnt want to brush up against it, he just didnt want to get that close to Canelo's snake, so that played into Canelos quick white chocolate reflexes, allowing him to easily slip and counter GGG on the outside.
