made the most financial sense. It is not like he is fighting a scrub. He is risking his WBC & IBF ranking to fight the former WBO champion. Parker was rumoured to be possibly fighting Jennings but somewhere along the line there was dialogue between Hearn & Higgins. They have a good working relationship so now 2 of the top HWs in the world are going to fight for positioning & make a lot of money. What is the problem?Last edited by joe strong; 06-07-2018, 11:02 AM.

Boxing is all about matchups and I'm not sure how I see this fight, I think it's a true 50-50. I think Whyte would've beaten Ortiz but lost to Pulev, but he's probably making more money for this fight than he would have for either of those. I'm also sure Parker is making more money than had he chosen to fight Jennings, so it makes sense for both guys. I also won't be surprised if this turns out to be a WBO eliminator, at the very least Whyte will go to number 1 in their rankings if he wins this fight

They have a good working relationship with Duco Events & Higgins so they came to an agreement for the Parker fight. They weighed the options of going the Pulev or Ortiz routes but obviously the decision to fight the former WBO champion on British PPV

Wow didn't see this coming. Lol at the IBF and Pulev this is the 3rd eliminator they've tried to make with Pulev that's failed to happen. They mandated Pulev/Breazeale, then Pulev/Miller, then Pulev/Whyte and all 3 failed the materialize. Fact is nobody gives a damn about Pulev and I can understand Hearn and Whyte looking for another option with the 75/25 split going against them and them losing the purse bid.
Does Epic sports lose it's deposit, if so it's also a very crafty move by Hearn to screw Epic over for daring to out bid him lol.
This is a good competitive fight and it makes financial sense. I would of preferred Whyte/Ortiz but it's not a bad alternative when all is considered and the WBC's 2nd mandatory bull clearly made it too much to risk for no guaranteed shot any time soon.
Can't see how it gets Whyte closer to a title shot though, unless Hearn convinces the WBO to make it an eliminator.

Leaning toward Parker on points though. More skilled if lacking in elite power.
