What I would have done is made it a two fight deal wherein they got one more round of exposure, where for example Wilder fought Whyte in the U.K., with the assurance that the showdown would be their next fight and the splits agreed to by a mediator. Because I do think the fight could be bigger after one more round of tuneups but Povetkin is dangerous for a tuneup, but that's way too much for the promoters to work out I guess.

Time for Vegas must host the mega fight is gone. We have options now and the A side is in UK. There is nothing you and I can do about it.
Let's not bother to bring this site down, it is what it is.

Master Hearn does not want his robot to lose, because its his major source of income, so he'll try his slick hardest to get EVERY ADVANTAGE POSSIBLE, even if it means going back on their word is the format.
What will you do at this stage of negotiations?

What big names would take on Wilder for $2m when they could fight AJ for 3/4/5 times as much? He'll just end up eating mandatories which few people will be interested in and struggling to get the really big names into the ring (without taking a pay cut on what is already a fairly small pot).
Team Wilder need to make this fight happen because:
if they lose - they still make their biggest payday (we know it's gonna be $12.5 at the very least so a split representing $20m is likely to be negotiable). Wilder still has a very entertaining style so a loss is unlikely to dramatically affect his future earning potential.
if they win - they've just been given the keys to the money factory and Wilder becomes one of the biggest names in sports.
As I see it Here's what Team Wilder need to do:
Make it very clear that they're willing to travel to the UK to fight then if Hearn doesn't give them a fair offer take it to the public again. If Hearn tries to low-ball then AJ's reputation (and Hearn's) will be tarnished.
But to be clear, the risk-reward factor being as it is, Wilder shouldn't worry about breaking the bank with this fight - he should be thinking about the potential riches he'll make if he wins (making history in the process).
I know some people will cry about this because it will sound like I'm backing Hearn (which I wouldn't do); but I would have taken the $12.5m offer and just said
"I'mma knock your ass out and then I'll be the ruler of the division"
AJ would have been legally locked down to a contract and if AJ had squirmed a way out of the fight whilst being under contract then he would be exposed as a ducker to the whole world... ergo he would be forced to fight and Wilder would have his shot at making history and making bank. Personally, I think AJ is willing to fight anyway, but it would guarantee the fight which Wilder has been talking about being desperate for for so long
I agree with everything you said!

had aj accepted and dw flip flopped, aj fans would pollute this place with all sorts of hate threads.
