the word "quit" seems harsh for this situation but technically speaking, it was a quit by linares because he got up and then signaled to the ref he didnt wanna continue by bending down

Sure wasn’t complaining when it stopped he couldn’t even lift his head up to look at the ref he was holding his knees gasping for air it’s the ref jobs to stop it if you don’t look at him and tell him you’re good to go.

At the time of the stoppage, the contest was on the table with a split draw.

Lomachenko was up by two points on one judge's card, Linares was up by two on another and one judge had it tied.

But Linares didn't protest the stoppage at the time. Just another Quitvalev. Crying after the fact.

Linares didnt want that fight to continue he quit just like the 4 before him.
Funny thing is he said he wouldnt quit but look at what happened he quit.

Linares showed no resistance to the stoppage.

Not saying he quit exactly, but he wanted to and was happy the fight was stopped.

If the ref let the fight continue, Linares would have should clammed up while waiting for the ref to step in.

Yes Linares, you did quit. That knockdown was actually him taking a knee, look closely. Loma simply overwhelmed him with a spray of punches, Linares stepped back only for Loma to be right there again about to land some more.

Start of round 10, you could see the stress in his face. Threw a bunch of combos out of frustration and Loma just kept on lol.

But no one can cry over that. Linares put up an amazing fight. Quit or not, it can't be a stain on him.
