In my opinion, the American fight fans didn't get to see the real Hitman.

Collazo was tricky. He gave Hatton lots of problems. He was forced to hold on the inside and wasn't able to use his great boxing skills to win the fight convincingly. It was a tough fought 12 rounds but Ricky came out on top.

Some members of the boxing media suggested the fight could have gone either way while others believed completely that Collazo should have kept his belt.

If the fight had been declared a draw, I, and many others (possibly including Collazo) would have been happy. Ricky didn't forcefully take the title from the champion but he put up a great effort and deserved to be rewarded for his hard work.

However, I am delighted for Ricky that he won the belt and I hope he will come back to the States and show his real talent.

Itg seems that more than most years, t'is the season for controversial decisions and lacking of resolutions. Taylor has now been involved in three fights that can raise heated discussions at a drop of a hat. Barrera-Juarez? What can I say? Hatton- Collazo belongs right in there too. One side of the issue can seldom fully convince the other. Castillo failing to make weight aborts the third edition that was hoped to resolve the 1-1 equation with Corrales. Rahman-Toney....

Two guys, though, were exceptions: De La Hoya allowed no questions to be raised over Mayorga, and, Hopkins who, given but grudging chance by most, left no doubt in the mind of Tarver and everyone else. Sad that when mention of their names is made, the word retirement tails.
