The GGG-Canelo rematch could still happen this September, which means Canelo could be cycling PEDs at this very moment in order to get some left over benefits for September. Therefore, for the GGG-Canelo fight to be considered legitimate on a fair playing field, Canelo needs to be doing extra, extended drug testing from right now through September, specifically hair follicle tests, as well as every other available test.
However, I searched online and I cannot find any information that Canelo is currently being tested. It seems like the one person who is guaranteed not to have any backbone to ask is Tom Loeffler, the man who is supposed to be protecting GGG's best interests but never does... He agreed to give Danny Jacobs extra time to rehydrate vs GGG, he didn't demand Canelo enter VADA's CBP for the first fight, he let the first fight AND the second fight go to Vegas, he looked to be apologizing to Bob Bennett at the post fight press conference, instead of vice versa, after they robbed GGG the first time and Bennett was being criticized by the media, he refuses to demand future potential GGG opponents enter the VADA CBP citing 5-figure dollar amounts as the excuse when his boxer generates 8 figures every fight... and the list goes on...
So since GGG's own team cannot be counted on to look out for GGG's best interests and most of all a fair playing field and the integrity of the sport, the only people left who can are the fans.
To contact VADA and ask them if Canelo is currently undergoing extensive drug testing, visit this link: . I ask that anyone reading this who cares about the sport take a quick minute to contact them about this issue. Thank you for caring about the sport!
If you care about boxing, this is the #1 issue you need to constantly bring up to VADA and the boxing media from this day forward until September. However, if Canelo has not started testing by the end of April, I suggest boycotting the fight completely because number one, there is ZERO excuse for that, and number two, by then it will be too late again.
