Comments Thread For: Yeison Cohen Passes Away After KO Loss Earlier This Month

The World Boxing Association revealed that Venezuelan boxer Yeison Cohen has passed away. Cohen was in intensive care for 15 days after a fight on March 2nd in Barranquilla. For this reason, the WBA has demanded greater control from the local commissions, especially the one in Colombia, when it comes to approving the fights in order to avoid this type of outcome.

Boxing=Glorified Bumfights. Every one who supports boxing is responsible for this.

Had to look Yeison Cohen up. It’s a shame they let this kid keep fighting. The crime didn’t happen in the ring, it was when they made the f’ing fight. Yeison had not beaten one professional fighter, what was the career they were trying to salvage? Boxing isn’t for everyone and the kids record speaks volumes. Two wins against guys off the street and then he is getting KO’d by low grade fighters in his 8th and 10th fights? Why weren’t there other options for this kid. This is so sad and wreckless. His handlers should be removed from the sport. May the next world be better to him.

This is as ridiculous of a statement as ever read, so is everyone that supports driving a car responsible every time someone dies speeding wrecklessly? Is everyone that supports skiing responsible when someone dies in that sport. What a ****** and unremarkable comment. Clearly you have too little time on your hands to comment with any real sanity. Look at the kids record, it’s pretty easy to figure what went wrong here.

Damn we got some back to back tragedies, R.I.P.

I dont want to turn this thread into a debate or anything but I honestly think in alot of these cases its either some prior medical/predisposed condition or egregious referring.
