People on here talking about Dirrell getting hit after the bell casually Forget about the "Real Cheap Shot" in that fight . Lawsons dirty sucker punch to Uzcategui's jaw was some bottom of the barrel shet . Don't see how the Semi-late hit Dirrell took compares .

To me it wasn't THAT bad of a hit after the bell doe & I've seen thousands of fights continue after such a "late" hit without a point even being taken away. What was bad was the impact it had obviously, but I've seen that be more often turned into a NC than a DQ. That ref made his decision to f#ck up Uzacategui's day well before he DQ'd him.

Yea that ain't happening. Been a fan of Dirrell since I saw him win the Michigan Golden Gloves. 2nd best Michigan amateur fighter I ever saw (obviously Floyd is #1), but he's not that guy that gave Froch a nice competitive fight (personally I thought he deserved the W in that one) or the guy who had so much potential at one time.

This is a cat who's brittle, not of the strongest mindset with some solid skills still doe. If you're an elite level guy (top ten-ish) & make it tough on him with pressure he'll fold or you'll catch him sooner or later. And Jose gots the type of pressure that'll catch up with Dirrell sooner or later. As long as Jose has been taking care of himself in his time away he'll win this one & likely by KO.
It was in a 3-hit combo. The the last hit was a split second after the bell.

What's the #1 rule in boxing???

Protect yourself at ALL times! You want to see a REAL late hit??? Go watch Loma hit Rig. like 3-5 seconds AFTER the bell.

        Go to minute 19:06

I used to be a BIG fan off Andre's but not anymore. He used to have soo much potential and talent. I mean he was the last one to give GGG a real loss. And both their fights could of went either way. That Froch fight was a TERRIBLE robbery. One of the WORST I've seen. No that was a dirty fight. Headlocks, elbows, threw him down, rabbit punches, REAL late hits. And guess who gets point deducted???

But after seeing him quit against Jose and then what his uncle did??? Plus what he said to the crowd after the fight?? His entire team was/is a DISGRACE and that goes for both his brothers starting fights with ppl boo'ing him.
I'm done making excuse up for him.

Idk that he has an inner junkyard dog anymore. I'm a fan of Andre ultimately & will root for him regardless of his chances in any fight. And don't get it twisted I'm not saying he's got 0% chance to win or anything like that.

If I was putting percentages on this fight I'd say its probably 65/35 Jose's way. I'm expecting a near pick em betting line, or Jose will be a nice dog, that I'll probably hammer hard.

I have a hard time seeing Dirrell doing anything exceptional these days & unless Jose has slipped from what we saw last time I think Andre is gonna make a mistake again & this time isn't likely to have a situation that'll save him from the L.

Another poster mentioned it and it's true: Dirrell was coming on a bit and working his way back into the fight last time right before the incident.

There's no need to be down on him and make Uzcategui such a big favorite in my opinion.

Andre can win this fight. He just needs to want it bad enough and not let himself get derailed mentally.

Like I said of course Andre could win the fight, but I think its a fight one should lean more Jose's way. I think being KTFO (even if it was ultimately declared a DQ) isn't likely to be an easy thing to let escape from ones mind. I think Andre is getting older (34). And he's been inactive with 4 fights in 3 years (& 8 fights in 7 yrs), which I believe is bad for a guy with a slick boxer style of fighting, & still in his prime at the beginning of that inactive period of time. And Andre was losing the first fight & Jose was getting closer to landing what he did land he just did it a lil too late.

Meanwhile on the other side we got Jose, who's been a solid talent for a couple years now just getting better & who had KO'd 9 of his last 10 opponents pre-Dirrell. The only guy who he didn't KO was Matt Korobov, who was his first big step up, & he came up short against him. In his 2nd step up fight he was beating Andre Dirrell & if the bell had been 1 second later than it was he'd have a KO8 over him.

To me everything is leaning Jose's way, but I've never been one of these cats who'll say ANYONE has a 0% chance to win cuz that sorta sh^t is ignorant or fanboy-ish type sh^t.

He 1st needs to leave his family at home. His brother screaming at him to stay down wasn't a good look. Too many ppl telling you what to do is just as bad as having an incompetent one. Good trainers won't even train fighters if they have their fathers and brothers always around.
