Comments Thread For: Bviol Aims For Showcase Performance Against Sullivan Barrera

On Saturday, March 3rd at New York City's Theater at Madison Square Garden, newly minted WBA world light heavyweight champion Dmitry Bivol of Russia makes his second defense of the title against Cuba's streaking Sullivan Barrera, the mandatory challenger. The contest will be televised by HBO as the co-feature to Sergey Kovalev's defense of the WBO world title against IBO king Igor Mikhalkin.

Why Bivol isn't nicknamed "The Buffalo" ? Because his name means translated from Romanian/Moldovian to English "Buffalo". His father is an ethnic Moldovan.

Bivol will clip Barrera. He looks like an assassin out of the ring.

Not quite sold on either of them.. Both have qualities, and weaknesses; Bivol has power but untested ruggedness, while Barrera has experience but cracks in the armour. Should be a good one. Going with Bivol... only on a hunch.

I feel the same way but I am sold in whether he can knock a top opponent out but Barrera has the goods and has improved since he lost to Ward

Some good fights involving Cubans coming up. Barrera-bivol, Dorticos is fighting too, Hopefully Ortiz-wilder, Barthelemy. Neslan and Socarras should be fighting soon just like Ramon Nicolas, really looking forward to see this kid. Forestal too. Lets see who emerges as an elite fighter...
