Comments Thread For: Trainer: Saunders Tormented The Life Out of Lemieux

Trainer Dominic Ingle was confident his charge Billy Joe Saunders would do the business in Canada. On Saturday night, the Champion travelled to Montreal to take on powerful puncher David Lemieux. Plenty of pundits, especially in America, believed the risk would not pay off for Saunders.

He didn't after the Monroe fight which is why he turned up so good against Lemieux (who admittedly is a one-dimensional, C class fighter).

It was a good win, but between BJS' post fight trash talk online and now this, you ain't gonna win over many new fans. Be humble in victory and defeat, you didn't beat an A class p4p opponent

        ?? Now what?

He gained a new fan Saturday night. I had never seen him box before Saturday, just youtube stuff. I was a fan of David but BJS literally dominated his azz. I think if he had the mindset, he could've gotten the KO. David's feet are like Steve Martin's in The Jerk. The dude has zero rhythm. I actually thought O'Sullivan had much more skill then Lemieux...

Yes this isn't BJS talking now, but it reflects badly on him to have his team joining in on the post-fight gang****.

His performance was very good vs Lemieux, great fight.

jesus christ we gonna get him in the hall of fame cause he beat lemiuex? **** me theres an overreaction to that performance, GGG beat the living crap out of lemuiex. Has it gone out of fashion on this site for fighters to have to prove themselves against the best in the division before we start sucking there ****?

I won't stop talking up BJS, I have been waiting for a performance like this so boxing fans take notice, after he beat Andy Lee for the strap I thought he had the world at his feet. A bit of inactivity and a bad performance had people writing him off. His win over Euabnk Jnr should have gotten him way more love, but now people can't deny how good this dude is after schooling Monroe Jnr and Lemieux. I will say it again BJS gives Canelo and GGG a very tough night, I would put some money on BJS to beat both!
