Surely Yarde VS Liam Conroy should be the next step forward!

Sjekloca is a career Smw but he did just draw with Steiglitz who is the current EBU LHW champion. Now i know Robbie is a career SMW as well, but he was good enough to win the title at the weight above, and Sjek was good enough to draw with him... So.

Its a decent test for a prospect. His opposition has been horrific so far, but this is decent. I think if the fight goes past 5-6, Yarde could run out of ideas and start to struggle.

For the record, despite the physique i think Yarde looks very skilled considering his lack of experience. Looks a natural athlete (ok maybe not natural natural, but you get what i mean), probably could have excelled in any sport he chose.

Whether he has the intangibles needed for boxing/fighting we dont know yet. Time will tell. Im excited by his careet though and want to see how it unfolds.

Im worried about his lack of height. Hes listed as 6'0" but be looks more like 5'10" or so. Obviosuly built like a boulder. But there a load of tall rangy LHWs at world level with excellent jabs and Am backgrounds who would give him fits. Burton would jave been a perfect learning fight even if he did lose

This is a genuine step-up fight for Yarde, he's had a slow start but he needed experience. He's currently ranked no.5 in the WBO which does seem to be a bit inflated but he did take out the no.8 ranked Biryani for the WBO European belt in 1 round to intially get that ranking. It was an opportunity, he took it.

He has skipped the domestic scene mainly, albeit he did beat the Southern Area Champion in emphatic fashion.

The UK is an elite boxing nation so there will be good fighters always domestically to be matched up with at any level.

He's gone the WBO route and is now ranked no.5, haters are gonna hate, he'll be tested soon enough in this red hot division and this next fight will be the 1st step-up, good luck to him I say. Boxing is a tough sport, so I do not begrudge any of the learning fights he had due to his limited amateur experience, he's only had about 22 fights amateur and pro combined. He took his opportunity with the WBO Euro belt and is now ranked.
I think him and his trainers and Frank Warren are doing an excellent job, keep up the good work.

Nice, logical post, unlike these other clowns that clearly have an agenda.

I can't see AT ALL how people can complain that a guy who already beat the number 8 ranked in the WBO and is number 5 himself is being moved along slowly when he has only what...12 pro fights and 11 amateur fights?

How the F is that being moved slowly?

Turning pro so quickly is being moved a heck of a lot fast, and at this rate, he'll be fighting for the WBO title before he reaches 20 fights for sure, maybe in his 18th or 20th fight.

Seriously, on what basis can someone say he is being moved slowly?
