Kathy Duva sees plenty of options for Sergey Kovalev if he can regain one of the light heavyweight titles he once owned Saturday night. Beating Vyacheslav Shabranskyy for the vacant WBO championship would move Kovalev into position for appealing title unification fights against newly crowned IBF champion Artur Beterbiev and WBA champion Dmitry Bivol. Duva doesn't consider "irrelevant" WBC champion Adonis Stevenson an option, though.

The ***** never ever wanted Kovalev to fight Stevenson otherwise would not have pulled out of the purse bids, if she was so confident why not put up the money herself she is a promoter and if she lost the purse bid, would HBO haved sued her i doubt very much

Being that Stevenson has the next biggest name in the light heavyweight division it's weird that they're not chasing him the way they were chasing Ward for that belt it's definitely the biggest fight at light heavyweight now. Fighting a couple guys that have 13 or 14 fights with a belt won't do anything for him but get him another belt but does nothing for his legacy. Beating Stevenson at light heavyweight is probably the only fight in that division that will move the needle for him

He got salty off the first fight and wanted an immediate rematch and still got schooled.

Duva clearly and it is known that she didn't want to partake in a purse bid when it was time to negotiate to fight stevenson.
