Arias talked all that trash and fought scared as soon as he felt Jacobs' power. Lol

What a disgraceful performance, not a fighter that should ever be on TV again.

Jacobs didn't look great, but he won every round against a fighter in survival mode. Hard to look good against someone like that.

Sometimes fighters just go to the survival mode when they face a stronger, better opponent and just freeze down, not wanting to fight

But its quite embarrassing if you talk mad **** before the fight and then it happens...

Arias was over matched and he did what he had to survive and maybe get lucky and hurt Jacobs.
There was no way he was winning a clean fight.
Holding and hitting low are only "questionable tactics" if a fighter has no rep. If you're a high profile guy, fans say "that's pro boxing" or it's "smart boxing".

Fighters/Promoters talking smack and doing something completely different is part and parcel of the game. Jacobs said he was going to stand and trade with GGG that lasted 4 rounds. He then fought a smarter fight. Golovkin and Alvarez said they were going to stand and trade with eachother...that never happened. Arias and Jacobs needed to hype their fight fight because very few people cared.

HBO spent 12 rds SUCKING OFF JACOBS even though he looked AVERAGE against a CLUB FIGHTER WITH ONE LEG.

I have to totally agree with u here. I have never seen a network ass-kiss and try to build up a boxer with the history of Jacobs (which his history shows he is no p4p fighter). Jacob's is coming off a loss, has already been ko'd in embarrassing fashion, knocked down by Sergio Mora, having a pointless rematch with Mora (while taking credit for Mora's broken leg that occurred during the rematch), and has been inactive for long stretches of his career (post cancer).

Some of the things HBO were saying were just plain insane. For example HBO and Jacob's proclaim that his loss to GGG has made him into a special/great fighter and he had learned alot from his loss to GGG and his career shows it, but how do we know this since last night was Jacob's 1st fight since his loss to GGG. I have never seen a fighter spin a loss like Jacob's has regarding GGG. Just because he went the distance HBO and Jacob's use that as evidence of his greatness. It is just nuts. HBO went as far as to make excuses for Jacob's ko loss by blaming it on his cancer w/o providing any evidence to back up such a crazy theory. I thought that was extremely unprofessional and seriously insane.

HBO was exaggerating Jacob's performance claiming he was out-classing and dominating Arias. Now, he was winning the fight and won it obviously, but if you look at punch stat rd per rd Jacobs barely landed between 3-5 more punches per rd than Arias. And HBO was pointing to Arias low #'s as proof of him being dominated. So I guess the difference between outclassing your opponent and him giving a ****ty performance is only 3-5 punches.

Jacobs mostly did nothing for the majority of the rd until the 10sec clap only then did he really let his hands go. Jacob's seemed more interested in complaining to the ref about every body shot than in finding a way to get Arias out of there.

If Arias really hurt Jacob's feeling with all the trash talk Jacob's did not seem to insistent on making Arias pay for it. Plus why is Jacob's so offended by trash talk anyway its part of the sport and part of trying to get into your opponents head. The trash talk is no big deal, but Jacob's acts like he is above being trash talked to.
If Jacob's was as good as HBO has been bragging about he should of ko'd Arias or at least hurt him, but Jacob's did neither. It was not a very impressive performance. Jacob's has size, power and speed, but does not know how to put them into effective use.

What's the WORSE is showing up to the fighters post fight press and calling them out. LAra did that to Canelo and said he was going to take his head off and kill him. Promised to ko him and then turned into...
