Comments Thread For: Lou DiBella: Why Can't the Wilder-Joshua Showdown Happen Next?

NEW YORK Lou DiBella realizes it's highly unlikely that Anthony Joshua and Deontay Willder will fight next. The man who promotes Wilder's fights just can't help but wonder why. "Why can't it happen next?," DiBella asked during a post-fight press conference early Sunday morning. "They literally fought one week apart. Neither one of them is hurt. They're exactly on the same schedule."

Because Wilder and his team haven't tried to negotiate and they already have Breazeale lined up?

I think “I’ll fight Whyte with a Joshua guarantee in the contest” is trying to negotiate. What do you think Rob?

Shelly Finkel exposed Eddie Hearn on the boxingvoice, Eddie said '' What I said was no one approached me about a Joshua fight, what Shelly did was return my call and asked me if the Dillian Whyte fight involved a Joshua fight '' so no but yeah lmao!!! Eddie Hearn is a snake.

Also Hearn said THEY would make the offer and Finkle asked Hearn during the podcast when they can start negotiations and Hearn basically said...I got to check my schedule.

Probably because AJ team and Parkers team are working on a fight for March. While Dibella and that mess is trying to get social media followers and quotes on boxing sites.

Good question. Why can't it happen next?

Both guys just fought and are free.

Just wanted to clarify this, as I'm about the facts. I'm no sway one way or the other, but it's better for all to make judgment if the facts are there.

                    You've misheard, then misinterpreted.

Hearn said, and clarified twice - no one from the Wilder team had taken the initiative and called him first. Every-time there had been contact, he had called first.

Finkel confirmed this and said he had called him back and asked about getting Joshua if they fought Whyte, after Hearn had called to reach out.

Also, on a boxing podcast for fans - Hearn said quite simply, as a business person to business person when speaking to Finkel - that as he was in NY this week for the Jacobs card, they should arrange a in-person meet to talk about it all.
To give credit, Hearn has taken the actual initiative to talk brass tax twice here (making the calls first, then suggesting meeting in person first), outside of all the noise in front of the camera.
It's obvious for business reasons you can't negotiate the whole fight on an impromptu live broadcast, and would need to talk in private settings.
It would be like having a go at Mayweather - Pac for not signing their fight then and there at the basketball game, and arranging to talk in private later to talk it all through from a business aspect.
