^^^ this is why AJ dont want it. he knows what time it is. UK fans wont pressure them either because they're enjoying the ride. wilder represents the end.

While Ortiz appeared to step up he felt he had to juice to be competitive against Wilder and got caught then you have Hearn avoiding Wilder by giving English fans the appearance he wants to make a match then he makes impossible demands to avoid an actual confrontation which shows how much confidence even he has in Joshua. No question Wilder has to be considered the best heavyweight out there today, fighting all comers, its not his fault the rest of the wanna be's refuse to fight him while having their promoters talk a lot of crap while having their fighters fight washed up 41 year old champions who already lost or fighting absolute nobodies to pad records. It's so bad now with fighters avoiding Wiloder that he's left having to give rematches to fighters he has already dominated in order to stay active. Joshua is a media generated fake

Originally posted by Butch.McRae View PostTo my understanding, he didn't have a promoter back then. Wilder does, and seems to be doing pretty decent business with him. That live gate on Saturday fell somewhere between 750k - and 1.2 million with an audience of 10k. Can't be sure because we don't know the comp number, but it's more than than last fight with Stiverne that had attendance of 8k and 750k at the live gate (4k tickets were comped for that fight).
I had free tickets for the second level (behind the floor seats) on Saturday. So I know some were comped though. But I think Lou has done pretty good with him so far. I doubt Eddie has much success in the US outside of setting up AJ here (if it happens). The fight on Saturday will tell us a lot.

"They literally fought one week apart. Neither one of them is hurt. They're exactly on the same schedule."

This idea that the risk of losing would kill AJ's value at the box office is also wrong.
There's no evidence/data to support the argument that taking a loss hurts a fighter at his level in terms of ticket sales. Just look at PPV history (the data is a "pay per view" Google search away). If anything, losing makes the guy more money b/c of rematches.
Hearn's "marinate" excuse is tiresome and disingenuous. Team Joshua is ducking.
