Comments Thread For: Gilberto Ramirez Back on February 3: I Want Gennady Golovkin!

Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum of Top Rank traveled out to Mazatlan and met with WBO super middleweight champion Gilberto Ramirez (36-0, 24 KOs) and his manager/co-promoter Jess Zpari. They discussed the possibility of Ramirez making a title defense in Mexico in May or June of next year. Ramirez was in action last month, when he retained his title with a close twelve round unanimous decision over mandatory challenger Jesse Hart.

Zurdo would go to England for George Groves, Chris Eubank or James DeGale...

... for the moment, only DeGale is free...

There are a few more fights I would like GGG to take at 160 before moving up. I'd like to see fights with Billy Joe Saunders, Charlo, Erislandy Lara and rematches with Canelo and Jacobs. He gets at least three of those done, unifies the belts and breaks the defense record then it will be time for him to move up. Hopefully by the end of next year.

        It'll probably be Korobov

only one of these things will happen, the rematch with canelo. AFter he loses that, he can move up because there is no way he will break record anymore or unify the division. Dreams shattered

I'm not that interested in GGG's future fights... the guy is only after Canelo's money fight...

Not a chance. GGG will probably retire after canelo rematch.

Wasn't he supposed to fight Korobov before?

First of all, he is certainly not only after the Canelo fight. But he made a boatload of money and the vast majority of experts and the majority of fans think he won the fight. Why not go for the rematch?
