    Robert Guerrero Teleconference Quotes

I am happy to be fighting the re-match against Diaz. I feel like I pulled off the win in the first fight. But the judges saw it differently. I felt like I picked up the pace in the later rounds but it wasn't enough. It was too late. [details]

After two more fights, "The Ghost" should take on either Chris John (WBA) or Takashi Koshimoto (WBC), or, both (one after the other, of course).

Koshimoto is a southpaw but Guerrero should not have much of a problem dealing with that after having sparred with Pacquiao several times. In a meeting of southpaws, the Japanese was KOd by Freddie Norwood back in January 200. Norwood's left cross caught Koshimoto flush on the jaw; the Japanese fell face first and took several minutes to revive.

John (whose real name is Yohannes Christian John, or, "John" Christian John) was knocked down by a thoroughly dehydrated Derrick Gainer, who did not manage to make weight until his third try. It was John's first defense of the WBA title held in April last year.

The IBF throne is occupied by Erik Aiken who unseated Valdemir Perreira by DQ 8 last month. A unification match with Aiken may prove to be something big down the line.

Glancing at all that, It seems to me that Guerrero has a better than even chance of rulling the roost, with a back-to-his-winning-ways JMM as possible stumbling block or some prospect who's not surfaced on the radar screen yet.
