KO artist Edwin Valero is slated to challenge Vicente "Loco" Mosquera for the the latter's WBA SuperFeatherweight title on August 5 in Panama. Valero, rated number one by the WBA, is Mosquera's mandatory challenger. The WBA has reportedly ordered that the fight be made within 90 days after Mosquera eked out an SD over Jose Pablo Estrella in defense of his title last month in Argentina.
Valero, with a record of 19 wins in 19 fights, KOd 18 of the opponents he faced in the first round and was stretched into the second only in his last outing (vs. Genaro Trazancos in Kobe, Japan where he is now based).
Mosquera and Valero shall meet in Panama as the latter is not licensed to fight in the United States for medical reasons. Mosquera (24-1-1 with 12 KOs) is a Panamanian.
