Oh my god was that fight bad. Like watching two drunk guys going at each other with handbags, but less entertaining.
I think the key factor was the corner posts. A couple had pictures of Golovkin's face on, so they kept trying to monoevre each other around so that they were facing Golovkin, then slap the other guy when he froze like a deer in headlights. So quite a cerebral fight I guess - all in the footwork.
Who was the blind judge that had a 115-114 that's absurd???
Still BJS was exposed by a guy that can't break a balloon...
I think that judge might have fallen asleep during the fight and couldn't read the early round scores due to drooling over them, so just made up a score.
I was hoping Monroe would be somebody he isn't tonight. Instead, he fought the same way I've always seen him fight. BJS didn't look like a world beater but Monroe never tried to push action or impose any bit of his will. There were moments where both were waiting for the other to pull the trigger....neither would. It's a shame he didn't try to seize the moment, but I guess it just isn't in his nature.
Cotto vs Saunders could be a nice fight. catchweight 157-158. If Cotto wins then a fight against the winner of GGG-Canelo is a must for may of next year
