Honestly this would probably be a nightmare for HBO & Showtime with 14 dates in 9 months PLUS there plans already.

A sports channel of some sort would have probably been the best bet. ESPN or Fox Sports would be my best guesses cuz they could throw that sh^t on one of their sister channels. Meanwhile if they showed some Latvian boxer on HBO 2 or Showtime 3 idk if enough people would even find that sh^t to watch it in the first place.

Basically the tournament is a great idea that many channels would love to show 1 fight of it, but by not letting it be sliced up into 2 or more pieces the WBSS has hurt its chances to sell it at all maybe in the US. Or thats what its kinda looking like since no US TV has been announced & this pops off tomorrow.

Starting as soon as NFL and college football is starting. Networks have no say over scheduling. US networks aren't going up against football

WTH! I was excited for the WBSS because for some reason I thought they were going set up a new way to distribute the fight online. Something like pay $10 for each card or pay more to buy all the cards. Stream it in HD online... Why can't boxing get a platform like this going?

Its just one iirc, but its a insane tournament that anyone should love to have on their channel, The 14 dates in 9 months is a hard schedule doe.

The WBSS would be smart to let it be divided up to two tournaments or sell it by round (QF, SF & F) perhaps too.

Hell since they don't got anything lined up yet its a solid bet they won't so maybe they can just sell the SF's on which ends up being 6 fights in 5ish months which is a more reasonable time table. Those 8 dates in 2 months for the QF's is a mfer for any channels schedule.

Plus these fights are happening all over the globe so Paulie's & Al's frequent flyer miles would be insane to cover all these fights lol.

                  ... I suppose that it's about sport's politics there, in the U.S...

Richard Schaefer found himself somehow "isolated" within the U.S. market...
