    Oscar De La Hoya wouldn't have finally signed off on Canelo Alvarez-Gennady Golovkin if he wasn't convinced Alvarez is a full-fledged middleweight. De La Hoya is no longer worried about size as it pertains to his franchise fighter challenging the Kazakh knockout artist for middleweight supremacy. Speed has supplanted size toward the top of De La Hoya's list of concerns as their 160-pound showdown nears.

    Like I've been saying, they knew upfront that GGG would tax that ass so they bulked the diva up like a tank thinking she'd possibly be able to catch GGG early and take him out. But, as the recent videos have shown, the diva looks like she's punching in first gear now that the extra muscle has been added.

    GGG will piston jab right through her guard and batter that face all night long. Reality is starting to set in for her pimp now....will they find a way out of the fight before the 16th?

      Canelo never had great hand speed anyway lol Of course he'll look fast against Chavez Jr. or Liam Smith lol

      GGG is stopping him some time before 11. Anything else and Canelo will gain a lot of respect in my book. Can't wait to watch.

          Funny if Canelo gets injuried before then lol . Only way they can postpone now. Canelo is done.

            Was this really the best fight to bring in a new strength and conditioning coach?

              If Canelo doesn't display a noticeable advantage with his hand-speed, I think it's going to be a really tough night for him.

              I expect Canelo to have a useful speed advantage, and his sharpest stuff to land in the early rounds. If he can't hurt Golovkin or back him up any in the first 4; then he'll need to steady himself somehow and maybe work the counter right over GGG's jab for the rest of the fight. But the main thing is he really needs to not gas out or ease up in those middle rounds. That's when GGG I think could really take over the fight.

              Those early rounds should be fire. I don't think Golovkin will get the best of the early exchanges, but if he ends up being unbothered by Canelo's power...

              Lots of questions to be answered, can't wait for this one.

                True, I don't recall- but did they switch the conditioning coach up in the Chavez fight too? I definitely understand the concern with Canelo's conditioning in general.
                If you were on team Canelo you might hope they'd already have a familiar system in place. But maybe it won't matter at the end of the day

                  From what I've seen in Canelo pics, my main concern was how he had bulked up on muscle and how that would affect his stamina late in the fight. Didn't consider the speed aspect. Pretty convinced by now that Canelo is going to be sluggish by the 9th if it goes that far, he's going to be trading quite a few body shots with Golovkin and he had better hope he gets in enough body shots of his own to bring Golovkin's speed and movement down too.

                    ... normally, this isn't a good move... but one never knows the actual turnover... in case Canelo wins, the move will be praised as "crucial"... if he loses, on the contrary... a.s.o.
