Paulie was right on this. His corner are a bunch cheerleaders. You can't win with groupies in your corner.

This guy was throwing pitter pat shots on the heavy bag in the videos leading up to the match "He's just trolling". Come fight night same pitter pat slappy punches. Did his corner not do their homework at all?

How could anyone in the fight game not know that Mayweather is a very capable front foot & inside fighter?

My problem with MMA is that it's still relatively new so there's a lot of snake oil BS being peddled. Conor sales a $300 conditioning program, and he doesn't believe in road work uses bikes, and machines yet a guy that's almost old enough to be his dad ran circles around him using old fashioned road work & jump rope.

It was as if they were told to sell the fact that Floyd had to completely go out of the norm of his entire career just to beat the big bad Connor McGregor. When in fact, it was vintage Floyd where he spends a couple or few rounds testing how his opponent throws punches, testing feints, seeing what distance he needs to be to land certain punches, reacting to his opponent's punches to see where they miss, watching their muscle twitches to anticipate when they throw, seeing how they react when he throws, etc. Floyd rarely feels the pressure to WIN rounds out of the gate. He is always thinking 12 rounds. So he's comfortable losing 4 to win 8. He never says he goes in there and shuts guys out, but rather "finds a way to win".
They missed the fight that was going on right in front of them. They were talking about close rounds in rounds that Floyd was blowing him out (4 and 8 were not close rounds). They'd ignore what was happening to talk about what McGregor was doing right. They missed several big flurries by Floyd. They were just trying to still sell it even when it was obviously a foregone conclusion, boxing fans who know something saw this fight was over by the 5th round. MCGregor was huffing and puffing in round 3.

And they kept saying that Floyd was turning his back when it was obvious and Paulie was trying to tell them that Conor was taking his back like it was an MMA fight. Very poor commentary. I noticed in the Epilogue that the producers put in a couple things to show how wrong those guys were. They had slomo replays of the low blow and they did sound up of Conor saying post fight "I took your back a few times didn't I?".

Honestly around the 4th and 5th round, I shouted "Oh my...Connor doesn't know how to fight on the inside!"

At some point between round 3 and 5, I realized that while Connor looked pretty decent from a distance when fresh, but when Floyd was close, he didn't know what to do. Then Floyd began walking him down harder which kept Connor from being in an effective distance. Connor then had to try harder and expend more energy trying to figure out what to do on the inside. I didn't hear a commentator mention anything about inside/pocket fighting until like the last couple of rounds. Once I noticed that in round 4, I knew the fight would be over.

            Prepared for Game Plan

Mayweather revealed his game plan to come forward many times prior to the fight.

McGregor was as helpless as a little lamb by the end of the fight. He assembled a team that was there to inflate his ego, not to make him a better fighter. He got walked down by a 40 year old man with brittle hands who he outweighed by 25 lbs.

And if you look at his MMA fights, he trash talks after victory and totally disrespects his opponents. He could learn a little class from Mayweather who always has good things to say after the fight. I think that's the MMA Troll mind set.

Keep in mind, this is the best striker MMA has, period. And they put him in against a guy 2-3 weight divisions smaller and 11+ years older. Those guys can't throw hands, period. They're a bunch of wrestlers who can't throw hands so they tackle guys and roll around on the ground with them (worst place to be in a "real" fight).

Watching McGregor running away and looking for a place to hide those last few rounds was a beautiful sight.
2-3 weight divisions smaller? They fought at 154. No need to try to make it sound more impressive than it was. Conor got embarrassed.

Amateur trainer training an amateur fighter. Sad to witness tbh.

If that's the case then I have one question. Why the hell not? That's your own damn fault. Plus he told you what he was going to do. Even if you didn't believe him, you should have prepared for that. The bottom line is, it was amateur hour across the board on the part of McGregor and his team, literally and figuratively.
