Comments Thread For: Does Conor McGregor Have A Future In Boxing?

By Andreas Hale - Now that the dust has settled, it's time to assess Conor McGregor's performance against Floyd Mayweather and wonder aloud whether the UFC lightweight champion has a future in boxing. The short answer is "no." Obviously, if McGregor wants to continue boxing, he'd be able to fetch a pretty penny off of his name...

No. Anyone that's not 40 and isn't going to basically not throw punches for a few rounds will get him out of there quick

I think he's got a future, if brief, in boxing. He can fight Paulie next. If he can beat Paulie he gots a future beyond Paulie. If he loses to Paulie than I think his time in boxing would 100% be over.

I've been hearing some MMA pundits speculate on that Zuffa boxing that that MMA guy here was talking about & they think there could be some sorta UFC boxing league that the UFC would keep Conor fighting in & offer him ownership in &/or in the UFC to to keep him fighting. I've speculated myself on another BKB type outfit with lighter gloves in the cage & only boxing being something that I think would sell if promoted right. So maybe that could be the "boxing" road Conor takes next & his first fight there could be against Paulie. Idk if those guys are super speculating or if there is any possibility of that becoming a reality, but its a interesting thing to consider if nothing else as I think thats one of the ways Conor can get more longevity in combat sports as his time in the UFC is nearing its end with the guys coming up.

No the closest thing to a decent boxer that he can beat is malignaggi but every top 15 in 135 140 and 147 beat him

He can beat Paulie, he should target him next and then just focus on MMA.
